It's been a while

Well, the adventure has continued and hasn't stopped in quite some time and just keeps going. I've been absent from this blog for so long and don't even know where to start! I have been so busy the last few years with two jobs and just trying to balance my life with what little extra time I may have left over, if any.

It is now Fall of 2018 and my last post was in 2013. I might as well just start over, haha. Much has happened since my last post. I moved to a different town, changed jobs a few times and I think I might have just found my groove...finally! It only took 5 1/2 years. It's weird how time has gone by so fast. I'm thinking it was because all I did was work, work, work. Time just flew.

I really don't know where to start. I guess I will just go in order and hope I don't miss anything. I'm not going to make this the longest blog post ever though. We can do it in pieces. I will highlight the fun and important events that are worth sharing.

How about we start with when I moved to Henrietta and the cute house from hell? Yes, it was cute, but It was bowing and leaning and had so many issues. The landlords, whom at the time I thought were upstanding people and acquaintances didn't really care.

So, I move into this house, boyfriend moves in a few months later and we lived there for a year. In that year we found out that the house was falling, there were bees living in the siding, we had a snake den, washer/dryer ate and tore our clothes and it didn't hold heat or AC because the walls were so thin. There, in a nutshell. I posted about Tommy the Squirrel. It happened at that house.

We then moved to Fairport and have been there since. We love it here and don't plan on going anywhere. We may move to a bigger place next year though.

There have been Birthdays, Holidays and different smaller events since I last posted. As we progress I will post all the fun places and things in upcoming posts. It's about time I got to it, don't you?

Well, in a nutshell, that's it. Now let's carry on. Here are some photos I took of the Fall leaves turning. It had rained and I thought it made for a nice picture. I love Fall in Upstate. The air is crisp and the foliage is beautiful. Apple picking, cider and Halloween. Time to gear up for the Holidays!!

I sometimes hear people talk about an experience that shook them. Like a death that made them realize that life is short. Or a loved one getting ill and it made them realize that they had to get there act together in some way or another. Throughout the years I have heard people say these things, but very few ever follow through. They do a few things for a month or two and then they forget about it and revert back to their old ways. Seems to be human nature. I've known very few that made a true effort to change what needed to be changed and made themselves and therefore their life better lived. Why do these people only realize these things when tragedy strikes? Do they not think of living their life to it's fullest before these things happen? I think people get caught up in the day to day tasks that they lose sight of what they want. And what IS living life to it's fullest? I think that's subjective. Everyone's fullest is different. Snapping out of it

Seems as though I've been in a weird funk the last few years...okay, the last 5 years. When I moved here I said no more re-painting furniture, sewing projects, hand-making ornaments and the such and I definitely wasn't going to start collecting anything again. I especially said no more hunting for "treasures". Well, as my life calms down a bit and I'm not working 50-60 hour weeks I seem to have the need to create!!! I guess it never goes away. And I have slowly come to realize that I love doing that stuff. It gives me joy. I've done some projects here and there and felt that "high" of satisfaction. I have snapped out of my all-work-no-play, project-less, life funk. Guess I'm just a project junkie...lol! Today I thought I would start on some Christmas decor. I know it's still early but I feel like in the past I have a ton of projects I want to do but before I know it, boom...Christmas! I wanted to do a pumpkin project for Halloween...

The Drive

My two "Road Dogs" as we headed down the  PCH  (Pacific Coast Hwy) in Malibu, CA. Left: Scruffy Coco, Right: Foxy Cleopatra As you know I moved across the country. Well I didn't fly, I drove. Myself, my best friend's hubby and his brother all drove across the US. Two cars packed to the nines, four dogs and three humans. I dove my truck with my dog and one of their's and her hubby and brother drove in their car with the other two dogs. Talk about crowded. My little Pomeranian puff ball (Foxy Cleopatra) didn't care where we were going, just that her mommy was there! Now my bf's little Yorkie (Scruffy Coco) had a little bit harder time since her mommy flew there a week earlier and she missed her terribly. But eventually it all worked out and we all made it safe and sound. It took us six days to do it. We drove for eight hours and then arrived at our destinations, ate and went to bed.
